I was contacted by the client looking for a new design for her beverage cans. She wanted it more sophisticated and more modern. She wanted to be more competitive than she previously had. She also mentioned it had to appeal to men and women. The word “Syreness” (siren-ess) is inspired by the captivating allure of the mythological siren and the timeless elegance of the Greek goddess.

The logo was created to represent a mermaid and a goddess. I created it bold and simple so men wouldn’t feel like they were holding a Virginia Slim Cigarette (made for women) in their hand. I used the aluminum can as part of the design. I wanted to hand illustrate the kind of beverage in a classic design. When I presented it to the client, She loved it. She emailed back two days later and said she showed her friend and wanted the logo to be feminized and more tropical. I illustrated her face on the “S” and added tropical flowers in her hair while adding a wave in the bottom of “S”. Again loved it.
